The Eston Surgery has a long tradition of providing high quality family care to our patients.
We are a forward thinking, supportive, GMS teaching practice with a friendly team environment and welcoming atmosphere.
We care for 4000 patients and our team includes full time & part time GPs, part-time Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse and part time Health Care Assistant. We are a SystmOne practice in purpose built premises, and are open to innovation, enabling us to encourage and support self-development, nurture different interests and improve patient care
We are looking for enthusiastic team workers, to enhance our clinical and administrative team with a flexible approach to the demands of a small practice, providing support to colleagues as required

Health Care Assistant (3 days per week)
Starting in October
We have a vacancy for a part time health care assistant. The candidate have general practice experience and ideally have obtained an NVQ3 in care, be able to undertake clinical skills such as phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, and NHS health checks and well person screening. Full training will be given to the right individual to develop the role of the HCA in general practice to the fullest extent

Medical Receptionist / administrator (3 days per week)
Starting 1st December
Due to retirement, this medical receptionist is position for 24-28 hours per week, Monday to Friday in a family oriented, diverse and rewarding doctor’s surgery.
The role will involve greeting people on the front desk, answering telephone calls from patients and booking appointments with the clinicians. A large part of the role will be administrative, including data input, using SystmOne (our clinical computer system) and dealing with incoming correspondence, letters and results and prescription requests.

The right candidate for both positions will have:
- The ability to be part of a primary care healthcare team
- Committed to a patient centred approach to care
- Ability to cope with a variety of work and fluctuating workloads
- Able to prioritise and organise own work.
- Ability to work on own initiative, keeping within practice policies and seeking advice where necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient word processing and keyboard skills.
- Aptitude to learn new software packages.
- Ability to work flexibly both in a team and independently
- Able to remain calm and pleasant in a somewhat demanding role
Both roles are subject to Disclosure Barring Service and other relevant employment checks.
